The remarkable recovery of a 30-year-old elephant bull's fractured leg
** FOR AN UPDATED VIDEO ABOUT FISHAN - go to: https://youtu.be/kyP_S7EhrpsFishan, a 30-year-old, four-ton elephant bull at Camp Jabulani, fractured his lower ulna bone of his front left leg in September 2018. There are very few recorded successful treatments of how to treat an animal of this size that weighs four tons. With an exceptional team of wildlife vets and a team of outstanding elephant carers that gave him unconditional love and care every single day, Fishan has made a remarkable recovery. He is not fully healed as of yet, and he will most likely have a limp for life, but we are so relieved to see him out in the reserve again, with the rest of his herd, where he belongs.
