Buccaneers and swashbucklers have taken over Yorktown, Virginia for the annual Pirate Weekend. This event attracts a hodgepodge of characters from Vikings up to sea-shanty chanteuses. In this video you'll see a blacksmith at work, some naval weaponry, royal marines, and even an artillery demonstration. This was a short but fun trip for me, and I hope to show you more of this beautiful little town in the future when things are more peaceful. Yorktown's biggest claim to fame in history is for being the site of the last siege of the American Revolution, where Lord Cornwallis attempted to hold out against the combined forces of Lafayette and Washington only to surrender on October 19, 1781.
